# Understanding Merchant Payments and Payouts on Resquash

> Learn how customer payments flow through Resquash, how to set up your bank account, and when to expect your payout after each order.

Resquash handles all payment processing on your behalf, so you never need to chase customers for payment or manage transactions manually. When a customer places an order, they pay securely through the app — Resquash processes the payment, deducts the platform fee, and sends the remainder directly to your bank account on your chosen schedule. This guide explains exactly how that flow works and how to get set up.

## How Payments Work

The payment flow on Resquash has three steps:

1. **Customer pays** — the customer completes checkout in the Resquash app using their preferred payment method (credit/debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay). The payment is captured securely at the time of purchase.
2. **Resquash processes the payment** — Resquash verifies the transaction, deducts the platform fee, and holds the net amount in your merchant balance.
3. **You receive your payout** — based on your payout schedule, Resquash transfers the net amount directly to your connected bank account.

You can view your balance, transaction history, and upcoming payouts at any time from the **Payments** section of your merchant dashboard.

## Setting Up Payouts

Before you can receive money from orders, connect your bank account in the merchant portal.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Log in to your merchant portal">
    Go to [merchants.resquash.com](https://merchants.resquash.com) and sign in with your merchant credentials.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Go to Settings → Payments">
    In the left sidebar, click **Settings**, then select **Payments** from the submenu.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect your bank account">
    Click **Add Bank Account** and enter your account details. Resquash uses secure, encrypted bank verification — your full account number is never stored in plain text. You may be asked to verify your account with a small test deposit, which typically appears within one business day.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set your payout schedule">
    Choose how often you'd like to receive payouts:

    * **Daily** — receive a payout each business day for all orders completed the previous day
    * **Weekly** — receive a single consolidated payout each week (processed on the day you select)

    Select your preference and click **Save**. You can change your payout schedule at any time from the same settings page.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Payout Timeline

After an order is marked as **Completed**, the net payout amount (order total minus platform fee) is queued for your next scheduled payout. Funds typically arrive in your bank account within **2–3 business days** from the time the payout is processed, depending on your bank.

For example, on a daily payout schedule:

* Order completed on Monday → payout processed Monday evening → funds arrive Wednesday or Thursday

<Note>
  Resquash charges a small platform fee on each transaction. The exact fee percentage applicable to your account is shown in **Plan** in the merchant portal. This fee is automatically deducted before your payout is calculated — you always receive the net amount shown in your merchant balance.
